YAML Formatter, Validator and JSON Converter
Validate and format YAML, sort keys, inspect a tree and convert to or from JSON. Local processing keeps your documents in your browser.
YAML makes configuration readable, but indentation and duplicate keys can introduce errors. The validator rejects duplicate keys. JSON conversion helps you inspect the structure in other tools; conversion back to YAML reconstructs its values.
How it works
This YAML tool makes your data easier to read and transform. Explore the actions with an example, then import your file. Always review results before using them in production.
- Paste text or import a file.
- Choose an action and adjust the options.
- Review the result, then copy or export.
Things to know
Duplicate keys are rejected. Aliases are limited. JSON conversion loses comments and may change YAML-specific types.
Limit: 2 MB per input to keep the interface responsive.
Your documents are processed in your browser. Theme, language and privacy choices may be saved on this device. Statistics and advertising have separate consent choices.
Frequently asked questions
Are YAML comments preserved when converting to JSON?
JSON does not represent comments. Conversion and tree editing can discard them and normalize YAML-specific types. Keep the original file when those details matter.
